Vampy Halloween Picks

Although I'm not a huge participant in the whole Halloween thing, I've been looking forward to making my own post as I love getting creative especially when there's a theme to it! I love the ideas and imagination when it comes to Halloween but I never find myself dressing up, just staying in with some spooky treats and a film. Anyway, if you're looking to get creative with affordable makeup that could easily be used again once Halloween is over, then this is the post for you!

The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid in Tahiti Hibiscus | £6
This rich red-blood colour would be well suited for a bold makeup look. I wouldn't say it was neither warm nor cool toned so it could also be used as fake blood on the face as the colour is pretty spot on! Liquid lipstick is a good product to use for veins and small detailing.

Almost the same shade but slightly more cooler, purple-toned is this vampy lip colour. This would make the perfect vampire lip paired with smokey eyes. Other popular dark shades from the collection are 'Copenhagen' and 'Transylvania'.

A slightly more neutral and non-matte option to go for is this cool-toned pink lipstick which is also lovely for everyday use. The colour is rich and bold but not too dramatic and feels comfortable on the lips.

Benefit Benetint Lip & Cheek colour mini | £5
As this product is actually made to create a tint of colour on the skin, it's pretty appropriate for Halloween! You can wear it on your lips for a red-stained effect or you could use it for detailing especially around any fake wounds.

L'OrĂ©al Miss Manga Mascara | £7.99
This mascara is designed to make your lashes bold, black and volumised. This makes the lashes kind of spiked which would be perfect for those dramatic looks. It also has strong holding power.

With it's various berry-toned shades, this could be used as eyeshadow or even on the face and neck. You could really create an impressive pink, blood-shot eye look with the right tools and technique with this. It also includes a pure white shade which is always handy to have on Halloween.

This is probably one of the most appropriate shades from Essie's red range for Halloween as it's quite dark and vampy. The colour is bold and has a glossy finish.

This shimmery purple shade would suit a dramatic, dark eye look particularly if you're going for something that's cold-blooded like a vampire. Again, would work well on the face and neck for added detail such as bruises and what not.

Chokers are perfect for Halloween, especially if you're wanting to look a bit more glamorous! You can either wear it like a choker on the tightest adjustment or a little looser as a regular necklace. (Also the diamante choker was also from River Island but is no longer listed on the website).
